Damaging winds and heavy hail possible in southeast Wyoming on Sunday

The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service is warning of the possibility of severe storms in southeastern Wyoming on Sunday.

The storms could be accompanied by heavy hail and destructive winds.

The agency published the following on its website:

There is a slight risk (level 1 of 5) for severe storms on Sunday. Damaging winds and heavy hail are the main concerns. Storms are expected between 3 and 10 p.m. for areas along and east of I-25. Pay attention to the weather tomorrow and use multiple options for alerts!

On April 6 and 7, 2024, fierce winds gusting over 90 miles per hour swept through southeast Wyoming, causing havoc in Cheyenne and on the highway. Everything from fences to semi-trucks were knocked over by the storm. Check out the damage caused by local residents below.
