Dakota News Now expands partnership with Metro Sports TV for high school sports coverage

SIOUX FALLS, SD (Dakota News Now) – Dakota News Now is expanding its partnership with Metro Sports TV this fall. High school sports will be available on television and as a free-to-view live stream this fall and winter. It starts with football on Saturday, August 31, when Harrisburg takes on O’Gorman in the Dakota Bowl.

Metro Sports TV plans to broadcast 12 live high school football games in the greater Sioux Falls area, covering four Sioux Falls public schools: Bishop O’Gorman, Harrisburg and Brandon Valley.

In addition to streaming games on MetroSports.tv, DakotaNewsNow.com and the Dakota News Now app, viewers can also watch all broadcasts on Outlaw TV Channel 13.2.

“We are excited to bring our high-quality high school sports coverage to Channel 13.2 in addition to our online presence. Partnering with Dakota News Now will help us expand our coverage of high school sports in Sioux Falls for our area’s athletes,” said Brad Newitt, Director of Sioux Falls Broadcasts for Metro Sports TV. “We look forward to continuing the great relationship with Dakota News Now and Metro Sports TV that will benefit our community in promoting high school sports for years to come.”

In addition to high school football coverage, there are also plans for free-to-air live streams and television broadcasts on channel 13.2 for boys and girls basketball in the Sioux Falls area beginning in December.

Metro Sports TV will provide a high quality multi-camera setup at each event, including graphics and instant replays, as well as professional live commentary. Returning to the Metro Sports TV broadcast booth will be long-time local live sports commentator John Gaskins and a number of talented analysts.

“We are excited to share these games with Dakota News Now viewers each week on both Channel 13.2 and our digital products,” said Jim Berman, president and general manager of Dakota News Now. “Working with a partner like Metro Sports TV, who prides themselves on their high-quality product, will help further promote the excellent high school sports in our region.”

Metro Sports TV was founded in 2017 in Sioux City, Iowa. The organization livestreams over 120 high school sporting events each year in the Sioux Falls, Des Moines, Sioux City and Northwest Iowa markets.

Dakota News Now produces more than 45 hours of news each week on KSFY, KDLT and FOX Sioux Falls.
