Marc S.: I’ve been watching football for decades, and that facemask penalty against the Giants in the first quarter might be the worst penalty I’ve ever seen, considering it was committed by the opponent.

Jay S.: I like that in most of The Athletic’s game discussions, fans are insulting the other team or bashing the refs, but in Cowboys vs. Giants, fans are bashing their own teams. And rightly so.

Terence B.: I really wanted Daboll to succeed and turned a blind eye to some of his baffling decisions, but before the fact that Eric Gray was still returning kickoffs and his decision to hand the ball to a rookie RB who was on a did absolutely nothing at this critical point. 2nd and 6th place on the most important ride of the early season tells me everything I need to know. He’s on skis and it’s time to move on. What a sad state of affairs. But at least the total reboot is coming in 2025.

Steve R.: We saw exactly what Daniel Jones is tonight. He will make his receivers work for easy receptions. He will take too much time when quick decisions are necessary. And he will continually pound receivers into submission as they destroy their opponents.
