Zach Bryan apologized on Instagram on Thursday for a social media post in which he apparently claimed Kanye West was better than Taylor Swift.
“To the record people: I didn’t come for Taylor the other day,” the country singer posted. “I drunkenly compared two records and the result was wrong.”
The “Heading South” singer posted about Swift and West: “Eagles > Chiefs,” followed by “Kanye > Taylor,” adding, “Who’s in?”
As you know, Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The comment was later deleted.
“I get in trouble too often through Twitter and I would say it’s best if I stay away from it,” he said. “I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I’ve upset or disappointed. I love you and I’m doing my best!”
He added that he hoped to be able to explain his comments to Swift “one day.”
“I respect her so much as a musician that I definitely don’t want people to think I don’t know and love what she did for music.”
Bryan also warned his fans about the pitfalls of social media.
“Don’t drink and tweet. Don’t drink and tweet!!”
