Cool weather is expected over the weekend, with a chance of rain in the Detroit metropolitan area

4Warn Weather – The summer weather ends behind an approaching cold front.

A few showers and thunder are possible Thursday night before a cold front arrives from the west on Friday morning. Lows will be between 18 and 20 degrees. Near Detroit, winds will be from the south-southeast at 8 to 24 km/h.

Friday

Friday morning will begin with showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm in southeast Michigan. Bring a rain jacket and umbrella and allow extra time for your commute. The showers should taper off during the afternoon.

That means this week’s Local 4 game between Muskegon Mona Shores and River Rouge will likely be dry. Along with the chance of rain, it will be mostly cloudy and cool. Highs will be just above 20 degrees. Northwest winds will reach 5 to 10 mph.

On Friday night it will be mostly cloudy, with lows of around 10 degrees.

Saturday

Heading to the Big House to see Michigan take on Texas? Southeast Michigan will be cooler on Saturday. It will feel like October. A few showers are possible over Thumb early in the morning. More showers are possible throughout the region in the afternoon. Highs will be between 18 and 20 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 7 to 9 degrees.

Sunday

We’re going all in on the Lions and the weather looks to be doing the same. Tailgaters will enjoy a mostly sunny Sunday, but there is a chance of a scattered shower over the Thumb. Highs will be between 18 and 21 degrees. At night, skies will be partly cloudy to mostly clear. Lows will be between 8 and 10 degrees.

Working week

On Monday it will be warmer and the sun will continue to shine. Maximum temperatures will be between 24 and 27 degrees. At least until the middle of the week we will have similar sky conditions, but temperatures will rise to below 27 degrees.
