Kentucky State Police officials told WYMT they had no further information on the case as of Friday morning.

Stines declined to be interviewed from jail. Letcher County Judge Terry Adams also declined to comment.

The Letcher County Courthouse is closed to the public.

Several people are in shock as a result of the incident.

A woman who did not want to reveal her identity said the community was devastated.

“It has devastated our entire community. They are both well-known figures in the area and are involved in the lives of the people here on a daily basis. Knowing that both are not here, not present, is horrible,” she said.

Another man, who said he had been cutting Mullins’ hair for 10 years, added that he couldn’t believe what had happened to the judge.

WYMT will have extensive coverage of the incident on Friday evening’s newscasts.
