College Football Week 0 Results, Games and Updates: Florida State vs. Georgia Tech

The 2024 college football season has begun.

The season doesn’t officially start until Thursday, August 29, but we don’t have to wait until then to get our first real games of the season. Saturday’s schedule features four games featuring six FBS teams. Here’s a look at what’s on the docket for the unofficial first weekend of the season.

  • Florida State vs. Georgia Tech (in Dublin, Ireland) | 12pm ET | ESPN

  • McNeese at Tarleton State | 3:30 p.m. ET | ESPNU

  • Montana State at New Mexico | 4:00 p.m. ET | FS1

  • North Alabama vs. Southeast Missouri State | 7:00 p.m. ET | ESPN

  • Florida A&M vs. Norfolk State | 7:30 p.m. ET | ABC

  • SMU in Nevada | 8pm ET | CBSSN

  • Delaware State at Hawai’i | 11:59 p.m. ET | Spectrum Sports PPV

  • DJ Uiagalelei has been efficient (12-14, 96 yards) in his FSU debut, but he hasn’t thrown the ball forward much. The Seminoles may need to get a little more practice in the second half, as the Yellow Jackets have been aggressive.

  • Halftime: Georgia Tech 14, Florida State 14

    FSU’s Ryan Fitzgerald kicks a 59-yard field goal to tie the game! What a kick.

  • The Seminoles are trying to get on the scoreboard before halftime. We’re just under the two-minute mark and they have the ball at their own 30.

  • Georgia Tech 14, Florida State 11

    QB Haynes King did a lot of running on this drive, but it was Jamal Haynes who made his way into the end zone and scored the touchdown and the lead.

  • GT moves the ball again with chunk plays. They are now in FSU’s red zone and have a chance to take the lead.

  • Florida State 11, Georgia Tech 7

    GT’s defense gets stronger, but FSU’s Ryan Fitzgerald scores a 52-yard field goal to extend the lead.

  • Georgia Tech just bailed out FSU with a facemask penalty on third down and now the Seminoles are in GT territory.

  • Georgia Tech can’t do anything with the ball possession and shoots the ball back to FSU.

  • FSU tries it on fourth down in GT territory and CANNOT get it! What a stop by the Yellow Jackets. They have the ball at their own 34-yard line.

  • Touch down, Georgia Tech!

    Zach Pyron hammers into the end zone, capping a 6-play, 79-yard drive. The game is on!

  • Georgia Tech marched all over the field in response. Haynes King passed to Malik Rutherford for a 42-yard play, but the Yellow Jackets moved the ball with ease.

  • Florida State 8, Georgia Tech 0

    The Seminoles tried a swinging gate play on the two-point conversion and they succeeded! That’s a great way to start the season.

  • Touchdown, Noles!

    Lawrance Toafili sprints through the Georgia Tech defense and scores a 28-yard touchdown.

  • The Seminoles are on the move and are approaching the red zone after a few first downs on the ground.

  • College football season has begun! FSU has the ball first.
