CNN’s Vivek Ramaswamy and Kate Bolduan engage in a heated exchange over Trump and Harris’ policy reversals: “Is anyone allowed to evolve?”
On Wednesday, a CNN anchor got into a heated exchange with former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy about Donald Trump’s policies.
Kate Bolduan and Ramaswamy engaged in a sometimes loud exchange, comparing the political agendas of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
The former Republican candidate, who has become a staunch supporter of Trump’s campaign since he abandoned his own run for the White House, tried to clarify some of the former president’s views when Bolduan accused him of changing his mind.
Ramaswamy then sharply attacked Kamala Harris’ record of political change.

“To use Kamala Harris’ own words against her – and I think we should – she was in the presidential campaign for a tax on unrealized capital gains, for the abolition – in her own words – of private health insurance, for a ban on fracking and for a ban on offshore drilling,” Ramaswamy said.
“These are the kinds of policies that are absolutely not mainstream for most Americans,” he continued. “And that’s where I think the debate will be useful.”
He also called for “greater media scrutiny” of Harris and said she needs to give more interviews.
A somewhat amused Bolduan then tried to explain how Harris had changed her mind on policies she had previously supported, such as banning private health insurance and fracking.
“Those are not their positions,” Bolduan interjected.
Ramaswamy criticized Kamala Harris for her earlier proposal to ban private health insurance
The former GOP candidate was also a popular surrogate for the former president
“Vivek, but on the issue of banning private health insurance, (Harris) said she doesn’t believe it and she doesn’t believe it now,” the moderator claimed.
“As for banning fracking, she has made it clear that she no longer supports it.”
Referring to a previous CNN interview with Harris, the TV host mentioned how the vice president explained her change of heart.
“I think the most important and meaningful aspect of my political perspective and decisions is that my values have not changed,” Harris said last week.
In 2019, when Harris first ran for the White House, she told voters at a town hall meeting, “There is no question that I support a ban on fracking and I want to start on day one with what we can do on public lands.”
During the interview on Wednesday, the two often interrupted each other and tried to put forward their point of view when the other started speaking.
“When an issue evolves, when a position evolves — you can call it back and forth on an issue — when that’s no longer allowed, when that should be, you know, a death sentence for a campaign,” Bolduan added. “Donald Trump has problems there.”
Donald Trump said he has decided how he will vote in Florida’s upcoming referendum on the newly introduced six-week abortion ban. “I think six weeks is a mistake,” he said. “And I’ll express that soon, but I want more than six weeks.”
The Trump campaign issued a statement clarifying its position
She referred in particular to Trump’s recent change of heart regarding Florida’s ban on abortion after six weeks.
Trump previously said in an interview with DailyMail.com: “I think it should be more than six weeks.”
The next day, the former president indicated that he would vote against Florida’s measure to expand abortion care.
The Trump team apparently issued a statement about the initiative in response to the DailyMail.com report.
Ramaswamy then tried to explain the former president’s position, saying the voting proposal was “vaguely” worded.
