City of Savannah provides update on roads near Bradley Point Subdivision

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – The City of Savannah provided an update on roads near the Bradley Point Subdivision Sunday morning due to flooding from the Ogeechee River.

The City of Savannah Emergency Operations Center said its command post is still operating out of Fire Station 12 and is actively coordinating efforts to combat the flooding, which has affected several neighborhoods, with Bradley Point and Teal Lake being the hardest hit.

Officials say the highest water levels will be reached sometime on Monday, although they could be reached as early as Sunday. If you live in a flood-affected area, please be aware that these impacts will continue for the coming days and water levels may rise several more inches before receding.

Once the water recedes, it will take several days for some roads to be reopened. We ask that residents do not travel on closed roads as flooding may have caused damage to roads that is not immediately visible. The City will be checking the condition of roads as the water recedes to ensure safety.

Residents in affected areas who need assistance can call 3-1-1 to be connected to emergency services. The city is providing resources, including access to food, water and evacuation assistance if needed.

So far, Savannah Police and Fire Departments have evacuated 150 people and 10 pets from flood-affected areas.
