Due to the numerous calls recently regarding the free collection of trees and branches from private homes, the City is issuing this clarification regarding the process, requirements and schedule.

Residents do NOT need to call the city to schedule a pickup, as city crews are already out in several areas picking up tree limbs.

Collection of trees and limbs should take 3-4 weeks. City workers will revisit all residential areas in the city to ensure final collection. Final collection is scheduled to begin on August 19th. All debris and limbs must be placed at the curb before this date.

Residents are advised to stack their tree limbs neatly at the curb, with tree debris and branches no longer than 10 feet. If you have difficulty cutting down and removing tree debris, you can contact a disaster relief volunteer. Residents are asked to call (785) 826-6511 for assistance.
