Christina Hendricks married George Bianchini.
The 48-year-old actress began a relationship with Steadicam operator George, 47, in October 2021 and the couple have now tied the knot in a ceremony in New Orleans officiated by Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson.
Christina told People, “New Orleans is a place I’ve always loved going to before I met George, and a place he’s always loved going to before he met me. And then when we started dating or seeing each other, because we lived on opposite sides of the country from each other, it was the place in the middle. It just feels like our shared city, even though we both loved them separately.”
The former “Mad Men” star, who was married to actor Geoffrey Arend for a decade from 2009 to 2019, announced the news of his engagement on Instagram and then took over planning the big day, but if all else failed, he wanted to simply order pizza.
She said: “I really felt like I had to be able to navigate a situation where you’re planning a party in a city you don’t live in. I kept telling myself, ‘At the end of the day, when all our friends and families are together happy and celebrating… If all else fails, I’m going to order pizza and we’re going to have a great time.'”
But the ceremony was a success. Chrstina recalled making sure her flowers were a central part of the festivities. By working with design studio Sharime Kayla, she soon realized she could have the “sexy, gothic” wedding she had always dreamed of.
She said: “I have always loved flowers. They are very special to me and I have never really come to terms with just hosting an event and making it a festival of flora and fauna.”
“I came (to her) with Pinterest pictures and said, ‘I like this and I like this and I like this.’ And she was like, ‘Oh, you want Southern Gothic with Dutch masters.’ And I said, ‘Oh God, that’s exactly what I want!’
“It was gothic, moody and sexy. George and I are both ex-goths, so that appeals to us!”
