The Kansas City Chiefs used an unconventional tactic to score their second touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon.
When the defending champions were at Cincinnati’s goal line in the third quarter, they brought in offensive tackle Wanya Morris to get the Bengals to reconsider going all-in on pass defense.
When Patrick Mahomes grabbed the ball, he faked a run up the middle and hit Morris, who was an eligible receiver on the play, with a touchdown pass.
Check out this video of Kansas City’s final big man touchdown, posted on the Chiefs’ official Twitter account during the game:
This was Mahomes’ second touchdown pass of the game, and although it gave Kansas City a one-point lead, the Bengals stormed down the field to retake the lead later in the third quarter.
Expect Andy Reid to continue to get creative as the Chiefs try to outlast Cincinnati in Week 2.
