Chiefs RB Carson Steele fumbles, Bengals regain the ball

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Cincinnati Bengals (0-1) are back at Arrowhead Stadium to face the Kansas City Chiefs (1-0).

Cincinnati linebacker Germaine Pratt recovered a fumble from Chiefs running back Carson Steele after defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins knocked the ball out. It was the Bengals’ second turnover of the day.

Bengals defensive tackle BJ Hill had to go to the locker room before halftime because of an apparent hamstring injury. His return is questionable.

Joe Burrow was sacked for the first time in the game, so the Bengals had to settle for a 33-yard field goal by Evan McPherson.

Patrick Mahomes scored his first touchdown of the game when he threw a deep pass to Rashee Rice for a 44-yard touchdown pass.

The Bengals scored the first touchdown of the day with a 4-yard pass from Joe Burrow to Andrei Iosivas. The TD was Burrow’s first of the season.

The touchdown came after Akeem Davis-Gaither made the first big play of the game, intercepting a pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce.

The Bengals defense held firm and held the Chiefs from a field goal after their lengthy first drive of the game. Harrison Butker made a 19-yard field goal to tie the game with just over two minutes left in the first quarter.

After a strong opening drive, the Bengals are the first to score with a field goal from Evan McPherson.

During the series before the field goal, Burrow and Mike Gesicki managed a crucial fourth down attempt.

Cincinnati will be looking to rebound from a mixed performance in Week 1 against the New England Patriots. The Chiefs are fresh off their opening win against the Ravens.

The Bengals face the Chiefs without Burrows’ No. 2 option Tee Higgins. Higgins will miss the second week in a row with a hamstring injury. Draft pick Amarius Mims will also miss Week 2 again with his pectoral injury.
