Chiefs injuries: Hollywood Brown and Clyde Edwards-Helaire will miss Sunday

The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for their season opener, scheduled for Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Because of the Thursday game, the Chiefs began their official practice week on Sunday, which they consider Wednesday inside.

On the podium, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said the expected: Wide receiver Hollywood Brown would not practice. Brown suffered a Sternoclavicular injury in the first week of the preseason, and the club has pointed out that this is the same injury and schedule that wide receiver Tyreek Hill struggled with in 2021 when he was still a member of the Chiefs.

If Brown sticks to the same schedule as Hill, he could be eligible to play in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals, although the Chiefs’ training staff has been cautious in the past about returning key players from injuries. Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons still seems more realistic.

Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire appeared to be out in Sunday’s media reports. Kansas City’s first official injury report for the opening game will be released Monday afternoon and should provide more information on Edwards-Helaire’s absence.

All other Chiefs on the 53-man roster were in action on Sunday.
