Xaviar Babudar, best known as a ChiefsAholic fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, has been sentenced to prison for a series of bank robberies.

Per Nathan Pilling from the Kansas City StarBabudar was sentenced to 17.5 years in a federal prison during his sentencing in U.S. District Court in Kansas City on Thursday.

ESPN’s Elizabeth Merrill and David Purdum noted last November that Babudar was originally arrested in December 2022 after being accused of robbing $150,000 from the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union in Bixby, Oklahoma.

Released on bail in February 2023, Babudar fled the following month after removing his ankle bracelet. He was arrested in California in July 2023 and charged with bank robbery and transporting stolen property across state lines for a still-unsolved March 2022 robbery in Iowa.

The FBI also linked Babudar to six other unsolved robberies or attempted robberies of banks or credit unions in Iowa, Minnesota, Tennessee and Nebraska between April and December 2022. Authorities said he stole more than $800,000.

Babudar pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in February to one count of money laundering and one count of transporting stolen property across state lines. He also pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery in another case pending in the Northern District of Oklahoma.

He faced up to 20 years in prison for money laundering and bank robbery, as well as up to 10 years for transporting stolen goods across state lines. He also faced fines of up to $1 million and restitution.

ChiefsAholic often posted hype videos on social media each week before games during the season.
