Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov invited Tesla CEO Elon Musk to Russia on Saturday after he was filmed driving one of the company’s Cybertrucks, which was equipped with a machine gun.
In a clip posted on Kadyrov’s Telegram channel, the self-proclaimed muscleman can be seen taking a leisurely spin in the stainless steel-clad Cybertruck and then sitting astride the machine gun, which is hung with ammunition belts and mounted on the loading area.
In a glowing post, Kadyrov, the ruler of Chechnya, a republic of the Russian Federation, called the vehicle “undoubtedly one of the best cars in the world. I literally fell in love.
He also said he would donate the vehicle to Russian forces fighting in the invasion of Ukraine. It’s not a cyber beast for nothing, he said. I’m sure this beast will bring many benefits to our troops.
Kadyrov, who has been sanctioned by the United States because he has been linked to numerous human rights abuses, said he received the truck from Musk, although this has not been independently confirmed. Messages left with Tesla seeking comment were not immediately returned.
Kadyrov also used the video clip to invite Musk to Chechnya.
“I do not think that the Russian Foreign Ministry would have anything against such a trip,” he said. “And, of course, we are waiting for your new developments that will help us complete our special military operation (in Ukraine).”
