HASTINGS – There is a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms throughout the week, with the highest temperatures expected on Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service – Hastings, thunderstorms are expected overnight Monday into Sunday, associated with a shortwave disturbance moving through a broader trough area over the central United States.
Scattered rain and some thunderstorms are possible across the region into the early hours of Tuesday morning. The overall threat of severe weather is low, with minor instability and wind shear.
Temperatures on Tuesday will be similar to Monday, with additional thunderstorms likely to move in from the west during the evening.
Significant instability will again occur in the region, with the possibility of heavy hail and wind late Tuesday evening.
Wednesday is expected to be the warmest day of the week as a strong shortwave disturbance moves in from the west. Maximum temperatures are expected to be between 30 and 35 degrees.

According to models, rainfall amounts in the range of 0.50-1.50 inches are expected overnight Monday into Wednesday.
The chance of precipitation and thunderstorms will remain lower through Thursday and Friday, but models suggest it will be drier over the weekend and early next week.
