Catholic Bishops’ Conferences and Church Institutions in Africa Praise EWTN News Service in Africa Ahead of Fifth Anniversary

Father Makunde adds: “By providing free access to your news to Catholic dioceses, parishes, organizations and individuals, you have not only raised awareness of the activities of the universal Church, but have also promoted a deeper understanding of Catholic thought and culture in the lives of Catholics everywhere.”

“Thank you for keeping us informed about the mission and developments of the Church. We recognize and appreciate the important role you play in nurturing and strengthening the Catholic faith throughout Africa,” said the Nairobi-based member of the Tanzanian Catholic Archdiocese of Mbeya says.

“May ACI-Africa continue to grow and prosper in its mission, and may God abundantly bless your noble efforts and those of all the staff,” Father Makunde implores, adding: “I wish you many more years of success and effective service to the Church and its faithful.”

In another goodwill message, the President of the South African Catholic Bishops Conference (SACBC), Bishop Sithembele Anton Sipukasends his “warm congratulations” to ACI Africa, adding: “This Catholic news agency has done a good job in presenting news about the Church from an African perspective.”

Bishop Sipuka points out that ACI Africa has “given visibility to the activities of the Church throughout the African continent, thereby creating a sense of pride and identity for the African Church.”

In another goodwill message Caritas Africa has praised ACI Africa for its “central role in evangelization, especially within the Catholic Church in Africa.”

“This milestone is a testament to the invaluable service that ACI Africa provides in the EWTN field,” said the Regional Coordinator of Caritas Africa. Lucy Esipilasays their goodwill message.

Members of Pan-African Catholic Network for Theology and Pastoral Care (PACTPAN) have praised ACI Africa for its “commitment to providing timely and insightful news.”

“Congratulations on your 5th anniversary! Your commitment to providing timely and insightful Catholic news has contributed significantly to enriching the faith and knowledge of the Catholic community throughout Africa,” say PACTPAN members in their goodwill message.

They acknowledge ACI Africa’s commitment to “providing accurate information and promoting a deeper understanding of the Church’s mission.”

“May your continued efforts in Catholic journalism continue to inspire and inform, strengthen the faith of many, and strengthen the Catholic community throughout Africa. I wish you many more years of impactful service and blessings,” the PACTPAN members implore.

The leadership of Paulines Publications Africa (PPA) under the auspices of Pious Society of the Daughters of Saint Paul (FSP/Pauline Sisters) expressed his thanks to ACI Africa for the long-standing cooperation.

“Paulines Publications Africa has benefited the most from you because you have worked closely with us, especially in telling the story of our life as Daughters of Saint Paul, as publishers who carry out this mission so that we can reach many people and above all serve our Catholic Church here in Africa,” said PPA Director Sr. Praxides Nafulasays.

Sr. Nafula added: “We want to thank God for this significant milestone of your news service. Five years is no joke and we can feel the impact you are already making in the lives of the people and the Catholic Church in Africa. We can see our stories from our African continent being told to the outside world through your news service.”

Through ACI Africa, the Nairobi-based FSP member continued, “we see that our Christian faith is growing in Africa; and ACI Africa has been able to bring this to light. You are really doing a great apostolate and the Church in Africa appreciates you very much; thank you very much.”

Meanwhile, the second vice president of the Regional Union of West African Priests (RUPWA) praised ACI Africa’s focus on local church activities.

ACI Africa has made “considerable efforts to represent the reality of our Church, from major institutions to simple parish priests,” said Fr. Peter Konteh says, adding: “Bravo to ACI Africa for its fantastic work in evangelization through the media.”

The leadership of the Denis Hurley Peace Institute (DHPI), a unit of SACBC, has recognized ACI Africa’s role in raising global awareness of critical issues.

“My experience with ACI Africa has been extremely positive. They always report the truth as they hear it, without favoritism or bias. They have made a special effort to highlight issues that the church at the grassroots level considers important, and the overall quality of journalism has been excellent,” says DHPI Director Johan Viljoen in his goodwill message.

In Angola, the parish priest of St. John Calabria of the Catholic Archdiocese of Luanda has supported ACI Africa’s coverage of the desecration his community after a robbery.

“Thank you for your quick reporting, which helped us to receive help and support,” says Father Hilário Dumba in reference to the Reception of two ciboria donated by members of St. Norbert Parish in Paoli, PA, USA following ACI Africa’s report on the robbery.

“Congratulations on your fifth anniversary. May your mission continue to resonate around the world,” the Angolan Catholic priest implores.

In Cameroon, Catholic journalist Martin Jumbam praised ACI Africa’s “thorough analysis” of events.

“I congratulate ACI Africa and your staff for their thorough analysis of the events, be they political, economic, social and especially religious, as they affect the Catholic Church in Africa and in particular my country, Cameroon,” says Mr Jumbam, imploring: “May God bless you.”

Father Beltus Asanji Tabefor, a Catholic priest in Archdiocese of Bamenda has recognized ACI Africa’s role in providing credible Catholic news.

“ACI Africa is one of the most credible media sources we have in Africa, especially when it comes to Catholic news,” says Father Tabefor.
