Carolina Panthers sign former Tennessee Titans first-round CB

The Tennessee Titans made the difficult decision to move on from former first-round pick Caleb Farley this offseason. He was expected to develop into the team’s No. 1 cornerback at some point.

Unfortunately, after being selected 22nd overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, he never developed further.

Now Farley has found a new home.

According to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Carolina Panthers have decided to sign Farley. He will have another chance to turn his career around and develop into the player the Titans hoped he would become.

Farley should have a good chance with the Panthers. Carolina desperately needed help in her secondary school. If he can stay healthy, he could carve out a role on the field early in his tenure with the franchise.

During the 12 total games the cornerback played in Tennessee, he ended up recording just 14 tackles and one pass defended.

Really, no one knows what to expect from Farley. He never stayed healthy enough to be on the field for long periods of time. The talent to be a starting cornerback is there.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Farley. He is still just 25 years old. There are plenty of cornerbacks in the league who have started to find their feet at his age.

The fact that his body hardly shows any signs of wear and tear from the game also speaks in his favor.

That being said, Farley will be a name to keep an eye on. Maybe he will be able to find his way and become an important player for the Panthers with his new opportunity.
