Call for Proposals: Whole Health Consortium Seed Grants | Virginia Tech News

By: The Whole Health Consortium

The Whole Health Consortium (WHC) at Virginia Tech announces its annual funding opportunity that aligns with our overarching goal of exploring equitable health and well-being solutions that support people and their communities to live meaningful lives. Our mission is to revolutionize systems, research, practices, and policies by integrating diverse expertise to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities.

Research focus: This year, we are encouraging community-based research collaborations that examine health at multiple levels, from molecular and cellular mechanisms to individual behavior and lifestyle to social determinants, cultural influences, and physical/environmental factors. Key focus areas include mental health treatment, overmedication, substance use, and developing trauma-informed communities. Community engagement is central to the Whole Health Consortium. Proposals must involve community partners and are encouraged to include individuals with lived experience.

Seed Grant Program: This year we are awarding 2-3 scholarships of up to $40,000 in Track 1 and 4-6 scholarships of up to $10,000 in Track 2, the latter generously funded in partnership with the Carilion Clinic. Please see our website for more details.
