Burlington County begins work to resurface Himmelein Road in Medford

Burlington County has announced that asphalt resurfacing work will begin this week on a section of Himmelein Road in Medford Township. The project, part of the county’s larger road resurfacing program, involves milling and applying asphalt pavement on a 0.3-mile section of the road, also known as County Route 623, between Route 541 and Golfview Drive.

Work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday 14 August and is expected to last approximately one week. While traffic through the construction site will continue, motorists are asked to expect delays and consider alternative routes.

Black Rock Enterprises LLC, based in Old Bridge, has been hired to carry out the rehabilitation project. The company is also responsible for repavement of a total of 36.7 miles of roads in 15 communities in Burlington County.

Tom Pullion, Burlington County Commissioner and liaison to the Department of Public Works, stressed the importance of maintaining the county’s extensive infrastructure. “Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey and has more than 500 miles of county roads, 411 county bridges and over 700 culverts,” said Pullion. “Maintaining this infrastructure is one of the most important responsibilities of our government. Our rehabilitation program ensures that Burlington County has safe, high-quality roads, and we are pleased that work is continuing.”
