Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie collapsed on the sidelines and was carried off the field on a stretcher with a back injury during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

He appeared to have sustained the injury while making a tackle for several plays before collapsing.

Badie was struck in the back by the helmet of Jets linebacker Quincy Williams and landed face-first on the turf. He fumbled the play and the Jets recovered for a turnover. Badie was able to leave the field after the goal, but collapsed on the sideline a few plays later.

The Broncos’ coaching staff cared for Badie as he lay on his back and then placed him on a stretcher. He was immobilized and carted off the field.

According to the CBS broadcast, Badie showed movement on the sidelines.

The Broncos later announced that Badie had been diagnosed with a back injury. He was officially listed as questionable to return. The specific nature of the injury was not initially clear.
