Brock Glenn replaces DJ Uiagalelei as Florida State QB against SMU

play

Florida State football benched DJ Uiagalelei in the fourth quarter against SMU and replaced him with Brock Glenn.

Uiagalelei finished 12 of 30 and threw for 222 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions, including a pick-six. He was substituted with FSU trailing 42-16.

He started the game going five of six for 96 yards and a touchdown and looked arguably as good as he has all season for the Seminoles. However, a third-down throw on the run resulted in an interception, and following that play he fell flat, completing just seven passes and throwing two interceptions.

He did not complete a pass in the fourth quarter.

Uiagalelei suffered from a pinky injury sustained in the second quarter, but continued to play until the fourth before being replaced by Glenn.

Heading into the SMU game, Uiagalelei was 72 of 126 for 848 yards this season while throwing two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Glenn hasn’t played since the Seminoles’ 63-3 loss to Georgia in the Orange Bowl. In that game he went 9 of 26 for 139 yards and two interceptions.

The Seminoles trailed 42-16 in the fourth quarter at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
