The 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue hits newsstands on May 17 and marks the official debut of Brittany Mahomes, who was announced earlier this year as one of the issue’s rookies.
“As a girl from Tyler, Texas, who only knows sports, I never imagined I would be in (the SI Swimsuit Issue),” Mahomes told Sports Illustrated. “I’m just so grateful for this opportunity.”
Brittany, a former soccer player and wife of three-time Super Bowl champion and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is a founding member and co-owner of the NWSL’s Kansas City Current.
“I think I fit the vision of SI Swimsuit perfectly because I am always myself in every situation without apologizing. I want women to feel encouraged to always be themselves, to love themselves and to feel confident in everything they do and I think SI Swimsuit does that too,” Mahomes said.
“Be confident and be yourself,” Mahomes said. “People will love you or hate you, but what really matters is finding your values and figuring out what makes you ‘you’ to be the best version of yourself.”
Mahomes also shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos from their shoot in Belize.
“Brittany, owner of current NWSL team Kansas City, former professional athlete, wife and mother, is the epitome of a modern-day strength athlete,” MJ Day, editor in chief of the SI Swimsuit Issue, said of Mahomes.
