Weddings are meant to celebrate a day of love with family and friends. However, one bride was so upset with a couple on her big day that she decided to ask them to leave her celebration altogether.

The bride in question explained herself on Reddit and asked if she was in the wrong.for kicking out a couple who brought their baby and toddler to my wedding because I wanted a child-free event?”

She began by explaining that their wedding invitations clearly stated that there would be no children present at their ceremony and reception. However, on their wedding day, this couple showed up with their baby and toddler.

“I let the actual wedding ceremony slide. I was busy for obvious reasons,” the bride explained in the post. “I also thought that maybe they were planning on not coming to the reception or that someone was going to pick up the kids before it started.”

But the couple had no such plans, and when the reception began, the children were still there.

The bride asked her wedding planner to go to the couple and ask if they planned to pick up their children.

“I mean, everyone was drinking and it was loud and wild, and a crying child and another little baby running around were not part of the plan,” she said.

Within minutes, the bride realized the couple was arguing with the wedding planner and went over to try to defuse the situation.

“I think they thought I came to save them because they started talking about how rude my event planner was,” she said. “I explained that I had actually sent him there to talk about the children. I reiterated that the event was child-free and said that I had made that clear on my invitations.”

The woman told the bride that they would make sure the children didn’t misbehave, to which the bride replied that that was “not really the point.”

Then the bride’s husband came by and things between the groom and the other husband got “a little heated,” she wrote.

“I finally lost it and told them to just leave, which luckily they did without making much noise. Still, the whole scene was incredibly awkward, and that’s exactly what I wanted to avoid. I really feel terrible that my wedding day had to be marred in any way by this incident.”

They quickly sided with the bride, claiming that the couple had disregarded the wishes of her bride and husband by bringing the children to the event.

“Absolutely NTA (not the ass), you stated it on the invite and politely asked her beforehand. I think it’s awful that what was supposed to be the best day of your life was marred by the event,” one person said.

“The fact that they argued about it was even more outrageous. You don’t have to explain or justify why you didn’t want kids at your own wedding,” another person said.

The bride responded after the Reddit post made the rounds online: “What I took away from this is that most people think the couple were rude. There are also a few who think it’s silly to have a child-free wedding in the first place.”

“The feedback here has helped me not to feel guilty about it and to simply realize that not everyone has the same ideas about tact and manners,” she added.
