The unnamed bride took to story-sharing site Reddit earlier this week, asking for advice on something that has been on her mind since she and her husband married earlier this year.

The 25-year-old now-wife explained that the couple thought it would be “fun” to set a “color scheme” for the big day, hoping that guests would wear a color that matches the side of the couple’s family they belong to.

And since her favorite color was yellow and her groom’s favorite color was blue, she explained on the invitation that the guests should – Please adhere to this request if possible, especially for reasons of cohesion in group photos.

She also asked that mutual friends of the couple wear green to signal their “center.”

While the majority of the guests were happy to comply with the duo’s wish, the bride’s sister was particularly enthusiastic about the whole idea.

“When Jen found out, she was furious,” the bride explained online.

“I didn’t know this, but she hates yellow and it makes her look ‘pale’. She told me she would never wear yellow under any circumstances.

“I shrugged and said it was fine – I would just kick her out if she didn’t wear yellow.”

And through an unexpected twist of fate did She appears at the soirée in a purple dress, so the bride has no choice but to keep her word.

“I told her to leave immediately,” she admitted.

“The color scheme was perfect and she ruined it. Jen refused to leave until I threatened to call security.

“The rest of the wedding went smoothly, but afterward, my parents were angry with me for kicking Jen out. I told them I warned them she would be kicked out if she didn’t stick to the color scheme, but they said they all thought it was a joke. They said it was cruel of me to kick my sister out over such a small thing. I told them this was MY wedding that I hosted without their support, so I can kick out whoever I want,” she added.

And after sharing her story with the world, the bride received a tsunami of responses from other social media users, the vast majority of whom, thankfully, were on her side on the matter.

“The question here is not whether a color scheme is stupid or not. It very well could be, but it is also becoming the norm. And frankly, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to attend the event,” one wrote.

“But you can’t say a color scheme is stupid, so I make my own rules and force the bride and groom to let me in. Jen was stupid here.”

Another continued, “It’s also telling to me that Jen seems to be the ONLY guest who had trouble with the color scheme. If everyone else got it right, then it wasn’t that damn difficult.”

A third continued: “Also I find it funny how ALL shades of yellow make her look pale. Like seriously lol.

“I’m sure yellow isn’t everyone’s color, but there are so many variations of every color in the rainbow and I’m sure she could have found a yellow that suited her.”
