Bride kicks her teenage brother with cerebral palsy out of wedding photos because his crutches ruined her color scheme – WTF!

One bride has taken her role as bridezilla to a whole new level after doing something to her own teenage brother with cerebral palsy! Prepare to have your blood boiling by the end…

To the popular “Am I The A**hole” Reddit group last week, a 15-year-old named Boris explained that he had “mild cerebral palsy” and often needed a cane or crutches to walk. Before his eldest sister SophiaWhen she used a black cane at her wedding to match the black and white aesthetic of her ceremony, she asked him to use a black cane. Boris completely understood her request as the cane he uses is “covered in stickers,” so to stay on theme, he wrapped it “in black tape,” which his big sister “was happy about.”

From then on, everything was fine, right? Well, not really. On the day of the wedding, things didn’t go as planned. The teenager said he had “a really bad day” because his “legs hurt” and he “completely lost my balance”. It was so bad that he had to use his crutches (“which are blue”) for the ceremony. At the time, Boris “thought it would be fine”. And it should have been! The teenager needed the extra support of the crutches that day! His family – especially his own sister – should understand and be OK with it! However, they were anything but “fine” with it!

When the reception began, he claimed Sophia was “terribly offended that I was using my blue crutches and asked if I could just sit there and not take the crutches out so as not to ruin the colour scheme.” What the hell?!?! Understandably, Boris was “frustrated” with his sister – but he “did it” anyway. But when the family came for the photos? He had had enough of their attitude!

According to Boris, his sister complained to their mother that he was “ruining the pictures” as he was now relying “heavily” on the “crutches to balance.” When he stood up for himself and “told her to get a grip,” Sophia continued to whine to her mother. In fact, she even begged her to tell him not to be in the “family photos.” OMG! From there, the situation escalated quickly, especially when the mother sided with the sister! (It’s the number one rule of a wedding to give the bride everything she wants, but MAN, some brides make it hard.) Boris continued:

“I was sure my mom would realize how ridiculous this was, but my mom sided with my sister and told me that I was technically ruining the issue. My mom, Sophia and I all got into an argument, I couldn’t believe my sister was crying over something so stupid. My sister’s makeup was ruined and now her pictures had ‘ugly blue crutches’ on them.”

Finally, the mother told Boris to leave and had the groom’s brother drive him home. He wasn’t even allowed to stay for the cake! For God’s sake! He concluded:

“My whole family says it’s their special day and I ruined it by causing a commotion. I don’t understand (at all) how that’s reasonable.”

Her reaction is not “reasonable” at all. He was NOT in the wrong here! What his sister did was so shitty and selfish. If she really cared so much about aesthetics, she could have arranged the family photos so that he and a few others were sitting on a chair. Or hell, there’s such a thing as Photoshop! Edit the crutches to fit the theme! And of course, it would have been wonderful if she had an ounce of compassion for her brother and didn’t care if the blue crutches were in the pictures at all! But again, if the issue was so important to her, there were other solutions than just throwing a tantrum and making him feel guilty for something he couldn’t do anything about!

The fact that looks were more important than whether her brother was there for her big day is so crazy. And many people in the comments would agree! Social media users were in complete agreement that the family – and not Boris – were the “assholes” in this situation:

“This isn’t a wine stain on the bride’s dress or a cousin wearing white. It’s part of the way (the Redditor) carries himself. No one is even going to look at these pictures, let alone look at them and think, ‘If only they were black, this photo would look better.'”

“Weddings are about celebrating love and connection with family and friends. It’s NOT about aesthetics. Or about treating family like accessories instead of loved ones.”

“Your sister made a big damn deal out of crutches whose color could easily be digitally altered, and the fact that they thought your inclusion was less important than the color scheme speaks volumes about the type of people they are.”

We hope Boris got an apology from Sophia and his mother for their behavior. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments below!
