Bride insists on purely vegan wedding, ignores groom’s request

A bride demands that her wedding meal be completely vegan, despite her future husband’s requests.

The man explained in his post on Reddit that his future wife is vegan and she wants a completely vegan wedding, even though he is a pescatarian.

“My (28 m) fiancée and I are getting married next fall. She (Mary, 26 f) is vegan, but I am not. I am a pescatarian,” the man wrote.

“My fiancée wants the menu at our wedding to be completely vegan. I asked if we could have a pescatarian dish at the wedding, but she said no and suggested we could go with a vegetarian option. On any other occasion, that would be fine. We eat mostly vegan and I really only eat fish when we go out (which isn’t often),” he continued.

However, when the man suggested the possibility of eating fish at their wedding, his bride refused and demanded a vegan menu. The most she is willing to compromise on is a plant-based option.

“I also mentioned this to my fiancée, but she sticks to her stance. Either we have a completely vegan menu or the menu is mostly vegan with at least one vegetarian option,” the man revealed.

“I don’t think that’s fair. My fiancée says it’s her day and she should be able to choose the menu, but I’ve ‘compromised’ on practically everything else regarding the wedding. Our venue, the decorations, the colour scheme, because I know she has had a vision of her wedding since she was a child. My only request when I proposed and we started planning the wedding was that I could have a pescatarian dish, but she wouldn’t budge,” he concluded.

In the comments section of the post, users sided with the groom.

“It’s your wedding too, get whatever food you want,” one person said.

“It’s your wedding too and it’s reasonable to want a dish that meets your dietary needs. Compromise should go both ways,” another user added.

“Is that really a hill she wants to die on? I would call off the wedding because she has no respect for your opinion,” someone else chimed in.

“It’s not just her day. It’s your day too. She’s not marrying herself, is she?” asked one Reddit user.
