Brad Pitt, Courteney Cox, Pink, Elizabeth Olsen and Kaley Cuoco were among the celebrity guests at the seventh Rock4EB! benefit event on Saturday.

The event, held at talent manager Marc Gurvitz’s Malibu home, raised more than $1 million for the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EBMRF). The charity aims to promote research and awareness of epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare and life-threatening skin disease characterized by blistering following minor injuries to the skin, as well as scarring and disfigurement of the skin and internal organs.

The initiator of the event was manager Andrea Pett-Joseph, whose 20-year-old son Brandon Joseph was diagnosed with EB as a toddler.

Cox, a longtime friend of the Josephs (the “Scream” star’s manager is Pett-Joseph’s sister Cynthia Pett-Dante), is a volunteer board member of EBMRF. She recalled learning of Brandon’s diagnosis. “I didn’t understand it and didn’t know anything about it,” Cox said diversity“I think that’s why these events are so important to spread the message.”

Cox helps book the musical act for the event. Pink performed this year with her You + Me partner Dallas Green, and her daughter Willow Sage was also there to sing the duet “Cover Me in Sunshine.” Past performers have included Ed Sheeran and Brandi Carlile. “The fact that I contacted Pink’s manager and she immediately agreed is a real blessing,” Cox said. “She’s on tour right now, but she’s just such a generous person. There was no question about it for her.”

Before the evening ended, Cox considered who she would book next year. “It helps if I know the person,” she said. “It always helps if (musician) Johnny (McDaid), my partner, has written with them.”

Did he write with Taylor Swift? “No,” Cox said. “But I know Taylor. She’s a great girl.”

Saturday’s lineup also included host Judd Apatow, a raunchy NSFW stand-up performance by comedian Jim Jeffries, and a live auction hosted by Billy Harris.

Also on Saturday’s guest list were Kim Basinger, AJ Michalka and Aly Michalka, Charlie Hunnam, Damien Chazelle and Jackson Browne.

Food and beverage providers were Nobu, Factor’s Deli, Prince Street Pizza, Pink’s, Lucky’s, Broad Street Oyster Co., Tramonto Bistro, Shappy Pretzel Co., Drx Cupcake, Jennifer Naylor and Hall Napa Valley, El Cristiano 1761 Tequilla, Zen WTR, Blue Ice Vodka and Coffee Been & Tea Leaf.
