Boston Police District E-5 hosts community film night at Healy Field

RALEIGH, NC — A North Carolina woman has filed a lawsuit against Verizon Wireless, claiming the company gave her cellphone number and home address to a man who allegedly stalked her. The lawsuit, filed in federal court, says the man, identified as Robert Glauner, later showed up at her home with a razor blade and rope.

The plaintiff, referred to as “MD” in court documents, claims she met Glauner online in August 2023 on an adult video website, xhamster.com, where she used a pseudonym and initially gave him her cell phone number. According to the complaint, their communication was brief, but MD decided to cut off contact when she became uncomfortable with Glauner’s behavior.

Even though she blocked Glauner on her devices, MD claims he continued to contact her through various phone numbers. When she reported the harassment to police, she was advised to change her number, which she did. However, according to her attorney Amanda Dure, MD only had “10 days of peace” before the harassment started again.

The lawsuit alleges that Verizon Wireless gave Glauner MD’s new cell phone number and home address, which led to the dangerous encounter in her home. MD is seeking damages for the emotional distress and potential harm she suffered as a result of the incident.

Verizon Wireless has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
