Boston College Football vs. Missouri Injury Updates Week 3

The No. 24 Boston College Eagles football team (2-0, 1-0 ACC) faces its toughest challenge of the season so far when it plays the No. 6 Missouri Tigers (2-0, 0-0 SEC) on Saturday afternoon at 12:45 p.m. ET on the SEC Network in Columbia, Missouri.

Both teams have struggled with injuries so far this season. Below is an injury report for the two programs.

Brett Norfleet | Available: According to a report from ESPN senior college football writer Pete Thamel, Tigers tight end Brett Norfleet is expected to return from injury on Saturday. The sophomore suffered a shoulder injury in Missouri’s Week 1 game against Murray State and missed Week 2 against Buffalo. In 2023, Norfleet appeared in 12 games and recorded 18 receptions for 197 yards and three touchdowns.

Cam’Ron Johnson | Available: Thamel also reported that offensive lineman Cam’Ron Johnson is expected to be ready to play in the game. Johnson missed the Tigers’ Week 2 game against Buffalo due to injury, but could have played during the game in an emergency, according to Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz.

Luther Burden III | Probably: Burden, one of the best wide receivers in the country, left Missouri’s Week 2 game against Buffalo in the second quarter due to illness. During his press conference on Tuesday, Drinkwitz said Burden will likely play in the upcoming game against the Eagles.

Theo Wease | Probably: The Missouri wide receiver suffered a shoulder injury in the third quarter of the Buffalo game, left the game for a few snaps and then returned, according to a report from Missouri Tigers On SI. On Tuesday, Drinkwitz said Wease will likely play on Saturday.

Ja’Marion Wayne | Questionable: Tigers cornerback Ja’Marion Wayne has missed the entire 2024 season so far due to a hamstring injury. According to Drinkwitz, Wayne’s participation on Saturday is questionable.

Cameron Martinez | Available: Boston College defensive back Cameron Martinez has missed the entire 2024 season due to injury, but is expected to play against the Tigers on Saturday, according to Thamel.

Grayson James: Eagles quarterback Grayson James has missed the entire 2024 season due to injury. James returned to practice on Tuesday but was not on Boston College’s roster for the Missouri game. Boston College head coach Bill O’Brien said in his press conference that James is still on the pitch count list due to his injury.

This story will be updated before and during the game as new information becomes available.
