Border Patrol agent allegedly asked women to expose their breasts in order to enter the United States

SYRACUSE, New York (WWNY) – A U.S. Border Patrol agent from Jefferson County is accused of forcing women to expose their breasts while entering the United States.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Syracuse, 53-year-old Shane Millan was arrested Thursday on four counts of criminal violations.

The office alleges that Millan “deprived four different victims of their constitutional right to protection from unreasonable searches when, during the virtual processing of their entry into the United States, he ordered three women to show him their bare torsos via webcam and a fourth woman to show him her breasts while keeping her bra on.”

Millan allegedly told the women that these were legitimate searches to enter the United States, but prosecutors claim he made his demands for his own satisfaction.

Millan was arraigned in federal court in Syracuse and released pending trial.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office did not disclose where in Jefferson County Millan lives or when and where the alleged incidents occurred.

It was not said what status Millan has as a border patrol agent.

The Investigative Operations Directorate of the Office of Professional Responsibility of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection is investigating the case.
