    Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks announce 2025 stadium concert in Detroit

    Tickets for the couple’s concert go on sale next week.

    Billy Joel will perform at Ford Field on March 29, with special guest Stevie Nicks in tow as an opener, organizers announced Thursday at a news conference at the home of the Detroit Lions.

    Tickets for the show go on sale October 4th at 9 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Advance tickets go on sale to Citi cardholders beginning at 10 a.m. Monday.

    The announcement was made during an in-person press event hosted by Lions play-by-play announcer Dan Miller. Representatives from the city of Detroit and event organizer Live Nation were present for the announcement, along with Detroit Lions cheerleaders and the team’s mascot, Roary. The show is expected to attract at least 50,000 fans.

    The concert follows Joel’s final stadium concert in Detroit, which took place next door at Comerica Park in July 2022. This show was originally scheduled to take place in July 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and marked the hitmaker’s first stadium concert in the area since he co-headlined the Pontiac Silverdome with Elton John in 1994.

    Joel, 75, recently completed his 10-year, once-a-month residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Earlier this year, he released “Turn the Lights Back On,” his first new pop single in two decades.

    The Ford Field concert is part of a series of concerts for 2025 that Joel announced on Thursday. He will also play at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on February 8th, the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse on April 11th and Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on May 10th. Sting will open these other shows.

    Joel and Nicks teamed up for a series of stadium concerts earlier this year.

    Nicks, 76, will release her new single “The Lighthouse” on Friday and appear on “SNL” on October 12.

    The legendary Fleetwood Mac singer’s last performance took place at Little Caesars Arena in November 2023.
