Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen played an incredibly efficient and dominant game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. Despite only attempting two passes at the two-minute warning before halftime, Allen made Arizona pay for its defensive decisions in the second half.

Allen helped the Bills to a home victory, recording two passing touchdowns and two rushing scores in his fourth game, tying him with former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young for the most such games in NFL history. Completing 18 of 23 passes for 232 yards, Allen helped the Bills overcome an early 17-3 deficit and pull off a dramatic 34-28 victory over the Cardinals.

Allen also had nine rushing attempts (one of which was a kneeling attempt) for 39 yards and the two touchdowns mentioned above. His day could have been even better considering Allen’s running touchdown on the Bills’ first drive of the game was also taken back due to a penalty for a facemask violation against right guard O’Cyrus Torrence.

Allen is just two rushing touchdowns away from tying former Bills running back OJ Simpson for second place in Buffalo Bills history (57). There’s a realistic chance Allen could even move into first place on the Bills’ all-time rushing touchdown leaders list.

That’s incredible considering how many stats have him in line for the Hall of Fame. Running back Thurman Thomas is the current leader, and many would have predicted it would take much longer to surpass his rushing touchdown record. It only reinforces the notion that Josh Allen is a special player – a generational talent.
