Biden-Harris campaign says it was ‘uninformed’ about Trump fabric stolen from Iran

The Harris campaign addressed federal revelations that Iranian actors had sent emails containing stolen material from the Trump campaign to people with ties to the Biden campaign. The team said they were not aware of any material being sent “directly” to the Biden campaign, but that some people had received emails on their personal accounts.

“We have been working with appropriate law enforcement authorities since we were made aware that individuals associated with the then Biden campaign were among the intended victims of this foreign influence operation,” Morgan Finkelstein, spokesman for the Harris-Walz campaign, said in a statement.

“We are not aware of any material being sent directly to the campaign; some individuals were targeted using their personal emails in what appeared to be a spam or phishing attempt,” Finkelstein added. “We strongly condemn any attempts by foreign actors to interfere in U.S. elections, including this unwelcome and unacceptable malicious activity.”

In a joint statement released Wednesday, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the FBI, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said: “Malicious Iranian cyber actors sent unsolicited emails in late June and early July to individuals then associated with President Biden’s campaign. The emails contained in the text an excerpt of stolen, non-public material from former President Trump’s campaign.”

“There is currently no information to indicate that these recipients have responded,” the statement continued. “In addition, since June, Iranian cybercriminals have continued their efforts to send stolen, non-public materials related to former President Trump’s campaign to U.S. media organizations.”

The agencies said this “malicious cyber activity” was the latest example of Iran’s multi-pronged approach to “stir up discord and undermine confidence in our electoral process.”

“As the lead threat counterintelligence agency, the FBI has been tracking these activities, has been in contact with the victims, and will continue to investigate and gather intelligence to track and disrupt the threat actors responsible,” the statement said. “Foreign actors are increasing their election interference activities as November approaches. Russia, Iran, and China in particular are, to some extent, seeking to exacerbate divisions in U.S. society for their own benefit, viewing election periods as moments of vulnerability.”

In a new post on TRUTH Social on Thursday, Trump wanted to know: “WHEN WILL KAMALA AND HER FIGHT GO BEFORE A GRAND JURY ON THE ISSUE OF IRAN, IRAN, IRAN?”

“My campaign went through hell when it went through the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax. The big difference is that the Iran/Kamala campaign corruption case is real!” Trump added.

Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for Trump’s campaign, said the development was “further evidence that the Iranians are actively interfering in the election to help Kamala Harris and Joe Biden because they know President Trump will reimpose his harsh sanctions and oppose their reign of terror.”

“Kamala and Biden must come clean about whether they used the hacked materials given to them by the Iranians to harm President Trump. What did they know and when did they know it?” she said in a statement.

A Harris campaign official told Fox News Digital that “the material was not used.”

According to the FBI, Iran tried to influence the election by sending stolen material from Trump’s campaign to Biden’s camp

U.S. authorities said they have foiled Iranian assassination plots against U.S. politicians in recent months. U.S. authorities said Trump, President Biden and former presidential candidate Nikki Haley were among the targets. Earlier this week, a Pakistani man with close ties to Iran was indicted in federal court in Brooklyn on allegations he paid undercover agents he believed were hitmen to carry out the killings this summer.

Within two months, Trump was assassinated twice – at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and while playing at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Authorities have not publicly linked either assassination to Iran, however.

Fox News’ Sarah Rumpf-Whitten and Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.
