Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase scored his first touchdown of the season in the first quarter of the Week 3 NFL game against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football at Paycor Stadium.

For Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, it was the 100th touchdown pass of his career. For Chase, it was the 30th touchdown catch of his career.

Burrow and Chase scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter.

“I think it’s fair to say Ja’Marr was a little frustrated early in the season,” said ABC live commentator Joe Buck.

Chase did not celebrate the touchdown with the “Griddy” dance he is known for. Last week, he said he had something else planned, but would not reveal what. He added that the “Griddy” has not been retired yet, and proved that when he performed the dance after his second touchdown of the game.

Video of the first celebration, from the Bengals via Twitter:

Chase came into the game with 10 catches for 97 yards, without a touchdown in two weeks. He scored 29 touchdowns in his first three NFL seasons: 13 as a rookie, nine in 2022 and seven last season.
