Bengals vs. Panthers Injury Report: Trey Hendrickson receives another DNP

With a disastrous 0-4 start on the cards, the Cincinnati Bengals got back to work on Thursday ahead of their clash with the Carolina Panthers. Both teams have relatively long injury reports throughout the week.

For the Bengals, star receiver Ja’Marr Chase (shoulder) was back as a full participant for practice on Thursday, signaling he should be ready to go on Sunday.

Trey Hendrickson missed his second straight day of practice due to illness. He should be fine to play on Sunday provided he feels better. Hendrickson was virtually the Bengals’ only pass rusher, so the coaches won’t hold him back if he feels like playing.

Rookie defensive tackle Kris Jenkins (thumb) was back in action, which is good news considering neither BJ Hill (hamstring) nor Sheldon Rankins (hamstring) even participated in practice. Jenkins could be in line for an even bigger role this week.

Joe Bachie (wrist) was back to full action, but tight end Tanner Hudson (knee) was still sidelined with the injury suffered in Week 1.

For Carolina, cornerback Lonnie Johnson (hip), guard Damien Lewis (elbow) and defensive tackle Ty Tuttle (foot) missed practice for the second straight day, putting their status for Sunday in question.

Wide receiver Diontae Johnson (groin) was new to the report and did not practice at all on Thursday, while offensive tackle Taylor Moton was given a day of rest. Johnson later told reporters he planned to play this week.

Every other player on the Panthers’ injury report was limited or better.
