BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with an Albuquerque RV camp to improve safety and support for balloonists during the Balloon Fiesta.

According to BCSO, United Storage will provide free storage for balloonists’ trailers and equipment during the event. The hope is to keep all equipment safe, as it is often the target of thieves.

“I am grateful to United Storage ABQ for taking advantage of the opportunity to provide our Balloon Fiesta attendees with the best possible experience in Bernalillo County. Proactively working with companies like United Storage is one of the best ways to fight crime and create a safer environment for everyone,” said Sheriff John Allen.

Sheriff Allen added that they will be increasing patrols at their facility to further ensure the safety of stored equipment.

BCSO and United Storage ABQ plan to talk more about the offer Thursday afternoon. They will also tell more about the safety measures implemented for Balloon Fiesta.
