Somewhere between the mythical world of JRR Tolkien and the Boundary region of British Columbia lies a little piece of Hobbiton, and it’s for sale.
Located 25 to 30 minutes east of Osoyoos in British Columbia’s Okanagan Highlands, Second Breakfast Hideaway was ranked among the top 26 places in the country for a unique getaway in 2022, according to Airbnb data.
Christina Le Comte, the current owner of Second Breakfast Hideaway, purchased the property from the original owners in 2020. It features a kitchenette, fireplace, dreamy bedroom and outdoor fire pit on a sprawling, secluded lot where guests can let their imaginations run wild.
“People come and they’re just overwhelmed and they start crying. It’s just crazy to see people’s reactions,” Le Comte said. “They bring costumes and hairy feet and ears and beards and capes. It’s just so cool to see people so excited to be somewhere where they can just be a kid again and nobody’s watching.”
Le Comte says she has hosted more than 1,000 guests at her Bridesville estate, and now the time has come for her to step down as caretaker of the unique little house. The miniature estate and the 400-acre property it sits on are for sale.

“It’s time to move on and let the next person take care of the property,” Le Comte said. “And take it to the next level, or whatever level they want to take it to, because there’s so much untapped potential that I haven’t even scratched the surface of yet.”
The Hobbit Hole, which is based on the famous film series, The Lord of the Rings And The Hobbit, The property includes other buildings, including a house, a cabin and two barns, all of which are listed online for $2.5 million.
Le Comte says she hopes the next owners will continue to share the property with short-term renters.
“I think it should continue to be rented out and maybe even expanded,” Le Comte said. “People just love it so much and it’s so much fun to see the joy it brings people.”
The next chapter of “Second Breakfast Hideaway” is waiting to be told.
