Baylor beats Portland 1-0

WAIPAHU, Hawaii – The Portland Pilots fell 1-0 to the Baylor Bears on Saturday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. The loss dropped Portland’s record to 2-1-1 overall and 1-1 in the OUTRIGGER Invitational.

How it happened

Callie Conrad scored the only goal of the game in the 44th minute to give the Bears a 1-0 lead. Portland held Baylor scoreless for the rest of the game but was unable to tie the game. Defensively, Bre Norris made two saves on the day, while on offense Portland fired 12 shots in the loss, five of them on goal. Portland had to stop nine shots from Baylor, three of them on goal.

  • Norris was able to fend off two of the Bears’ nine shots for the Pilots.
  • In total, Portland had five shots on goal.
  • This is Portland’s first loss this season.
  • The Pilots have only allowed two goals in four games.
