Anonymous street artist Banksy likes to make statements with his art and his latest mural features a real car.

As part of Banksy’s graffiti campaign in London, his works have appeared in various locations across the capital.

Its eighth example was unveiled in Westmoor Street, Charlton, south-east London.

How a car became part of Banksy’s legacy

The mural shows a rhinoceros climbing onto a silver Nissan Micra with a traffic cone on the hood.

This implies that the rhino believes the car is a female rhino.

While the rhino is painted on the wall, the Nissan is very real and parked right next to the wall.

As a nice detail, the rear parts of the car are lowered to give the impression that a rhino is actually leaning on them.

Artist Daniel Lloyd-Morgan believes this is Banksy’s best work.

He told Metro: “I’ve been following Banksy all week. I’ve been sketching all the animals.

“In my opinion, this might be the best. It’s very funny, a great idea. I love the traffic cone on the car, which represents the horn of a rhinoceros.

“He also smashed the sunroof glass so it looks like the weight of the rhino is pushing down. It’s really, really funny.”

“Of all the ones I’ve seen, this is probably the funniest.”

This is not the first time an artist has mixed cars and art.

In Los Angeles, an artist created a sign for the highway to help drivers – but it was removed and replaced with a new one.

The meaning behind the paintings

This is one of several animal-inspired works that have appeared in London in recent weeks.

You can see monkeys swinging across a bridge in Brick Lane, elephants grabbing tree trunks in Chelsea and a goat balancing on a building pillar in Richmond.

Wolves, cats and pelicans also appear in his recent works.

As The Guardian reported, the campaign may be an attempt to brighten people’s day with “unexpected entertainment” at a time of depressing headlines.

Unfortunately, some of the works have already fallen victim to vandals who sprayed them hours after their unveiling.

Banksy has been around for years, and although his art is famous, he is still a complete mystery.

Another graffiti artist who has chosen to appear in public is David Choe.

He was the guy who painted Facebook headquarters in 2005 and accepted stocks as payment for it – which of course paid off enormously in the long run.
