Bank of America Stadium serves as early voting site for third consecutive election

Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC, will again be used as an early voting site after hosting over 25,000 voters in the 2020 and 2022 elections

Panthers actively participate in NFL voting as head coach Dave Canales highlights the league’s NFL voting campaign for Latino fans and wide receiver Adam Thielen can be seen in a video spot on voter registration

Charlotte FC and US national team defender Tim Ream also appears in the PSA

CHARLOTTE (September 6, 2024) – Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC, will again serve as an early voting site in the 2024 general election and will be available to all Mecklenburg County residents regardless of their polling location. This will be the third year that Bank of America Stadium will open its doors as a polling site, having previously opened as an early voting site in 2020 and 2022. In addition, the stadium was used for community purposes as a COVID-19 mass vaccination center in 2021.

From October 17 through November 2, Mecklenburg County residents can register and vote at Bank of America Stadium. On days when there is no event at the stadium and the stadium building is not in use, visitors can also take photos overlooking the field after voting.

Bank of America Stadium, which served more than 25,000 residents in the last two elections, was one of the first polling locations for the National Football League’s league-wide initiative, NFL Votes, in 2020. The nonpartisan initiative encourages voting and civic engagement across the NFL and its communities, and Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen is featured in a commercial for the campaign.

Dave Canales, the new head coach of the Panthers, is also involved in the NFL Vota campaign through the NFL Votes campaign – an educational campaign designed to inspire eligible voters in the Latino community to participate in the democratic process.

“In any election, it is incredibly important that all voices are heard, especially the voices of Latinos,” said Canales, the only active Hispanic head coach in the NFL. “I am so proud to be part of an organization like the Panthers that takes its role in the community so seriously and opens our stadium to have an impact that goes far beyond the football field.”

The Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC are committed to mobilizing their resources to inform, register and activate their local community ahead of the election and ensure that every member of the community has an accessible way to fulfill their civic duty.

“We are proud to once again open Bank of America Stadium as an early voting site for Mecklenburg County residents this year,” said Kristi Coleman, President of the Carolina Panthers. “We want to help empower our community to participate in the democratic process and serve as a central hub for voter education, awareness and action.”

Tim Ream, a defender for Charlotte FC and the U.S. men’s national team, is also featured in a public service advertisement by the When We All Vote Soccer Collective that launches Sept. 6 to promote voter registration. Ream joined the club in August.

Fans attending Charlotte FC’s home game on September 21 can stop by the You Can Vote booth located between the East Gate and the Team Store to learn more about voter registration or to register on-site.
