Baltimore Ravens narrowly avoid collapse against Dallas Cowboys

The Baltimore Ravens had their backs against the wall when they faced the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3.

Baltimore almost followed the same script and squandered a 22-point lead at one point, but was ultimately able to defend it with a 28-25 victory over the Cowboys on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.

The Ravens were on the verge of blowing another big lead after leading by 22 points and not allowing a touchdown until the fourth quarter. Dallas fought back and tied the score at 28-25 with 2:53 left in the game. On third-and-6 with 2:28 left in the game, quarterback Lamar Jackson threw a nine-yard pass to receiver Zay Flowers while All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs covered him, effectively ending the game.

Two plays later, Jackson kept the ball for a 10-yard run, sealing the win.

Derrick Henry delivered his best performance for the Ravens, running the ball 23 times for 150 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Jackson’s legs were also crucial in the win, as he ran the ball 12 times for 89 yards and a touchdown before kneeling twice. Baltimore finished the day with 274 rushing yards.

Jackson threw the ball just 15 times and completed 12 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown to Rashod Bateman.

Kyle Van Noy led the Ravens’ pass rush with two sacks and had two tackles for loss. Baltimore finished the day with seven quarterback hits. Ravens rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins forced the first fumble of his career, knocking the ball out of the grasp of All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb deep in Baltimore territory and it was recovered by safety Marcus Williams.

The Ravens were able to defend eight passes, with cornerback Marlon Humphrey leading the team with two.

Lamb finished the day with four catches for 67 yards. Dak Prescott completed 28 of 51 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns and scored a touchdown on the ground. Receivers KaVontae Turpin and Jalen Tolbert were the recipients of Prescott’s passing touchdowns.

Baltimore will look to stay on the winning track when it faces the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. ET on September 29 at M&T Bank Stadium.
