Balancing Campus Life, Work and Living: A Tar Heel Story

By: Cierra Tadda

Balancing a job with college life can feel like a balancing act. Long commutes, shifts between classes, and the dreaded traffic. It’s enough to make anyone feel overwhelmed. What if you could save yourself the stress by living and working right on campus? No more stress, no more wasted time, just the perfect mix of work, study, and play!

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Jack Wilson, a student who has experienced living and working on campus first hand. Jack shared how campus life has changed his daily routine: “It’s easier to plan my day in terms of my daily tasks when I eat, when I study. I felt much more grounded and had a sense of community here in Carolina.” Living and working on campus can not only simplify life, but it can also make you feel like you’re truly at home!

We encourage students to live and work on campus to make the most of their time at Carolina. Plus, did you know that Carolina Housing employs more student workers than any other department on campus? It’s the perfect way to get involved, gain work experience, and stay connected to campus life. Look for the Resident Advisor (RA) application this fall to become part of the Carolina community.
