Badgers volleyball has been shown on national television 18 times, including twice on NBC

Fans should have no trouble watching the Badgers volleyball team on television this season.

The Badgers will appear on national television 18 times this season, including two games broadcast on NBC, which is broadcasting college volleyball for the first time in the network’s history.

Last season, the Badgers were featured in the first college volleyball game ever broadcast on FOX. This year, two more Badgers games will be broadcast. Twelve regular season games will be featured on Big Ten Network, and ESPN2 and FS1 will each broadcast one Badgers volleyball game.

“This year, NBC will host its first college games and to be on their network a couple of times is an absolute game changer,” coach Kelly Sheffield said in a statement. “Plus, having a game on FS1 and ESPN2 expands reach and (we’re) excited to be on their networks – and for BTN to once again lead the way in our sport and have 12 of our games on their network is great. Last year saw record numbers in in-person and television viewership of our sport. I fully expect us to surpass those numbers this upcoming season.”

The first game on FOX – against rival Minnesota – drew 1.6 million viewers last season.

The Badgers’ first game of the season – against Louisville in the AVCA First Serve Showcase – will be televised on ESPN2 at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 27. Their next two games – against Texas and Stanford in the Women’s College Volleyball Showcase – will be televised nationally on FOX.

NBC will broadcast two conference games against Purdue on October 26 and Penn State on November 9.
