Singer Bad Bunny has signed a deal to star in the Netflix sequel to the 1996 Adam Sandler film All the best, Gilmore, by Mia Galuppo from The Hollywood Reporter.

His role has not yet been announced, noted Matt Grobar of Deadline.

Happy Gilmore 2 Sandler will star in the title role alongside Christopher McDonald, who played antagonist Shooter McGavin in the 1996 film.

Galuppo reported that Julie Bowen will also return as Virginia Venit.

The official Netflix account announced on Monday that Happy Gilmore 2 had started production and included a photo of a Boston Bruins jersey.

A Bruins jersey worn by Sandler during production of the film in 1996 recently sold for more than $40,000.

Netflix announced the upcoming sequel, directed by Kyle Newacheck, for May 2024, but has not yet announced a release date or synopsis for the film.

The singer made his WWE debut in 2021 and has since performed at several professional wrestling events. He has also taken on other acting roles and appeared in the 2022 film High-speed train and signs to take part in the upcoming film Caught stealing.
