Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s musical romantic film “Auron Mein Kya Dum Thawas released in cinemas on August 2nd, but did not cause any surprises at the box office. However, this Neeraj Pandey directorial was quite praised by some and fans were obviously waiting for the film as Ajay and Tabu would come together in a romantic film after a while. For those who missed this film in theaters, the film is now released on OTT.
“Auron Mein Kya Dum Tha” is streaming on Amazon Prime starting today, September 27th. The digital streaming platform took to its social media today and made this announcement.
The film revolves around the journey of these two lovers who got separated and meet again after 23 years after Krishna (played by Ajay) serves his sentence in prison. The film also has some mystery and thriller elements as it remains unknown why he was in prison and the film slowly unfolds this. During a chat with ETimes, Tabu had spoken about the film and said, “Yes, there is that feeling of nostalgia that ‘Auron Mein Kya Dum Tha’ has. The feeling of nostalgia helped this film. There is a sense of credibility in this film when you see Ajay and me together. That we met after 23 years and for some reason we couldn’t be together.
She further added, “People are interested in our on-screen relationship because they have seen (if I do say so myself) iconic films and characters. Especially the ‘Drishyam’ franchise in the recent past. Vijay Salgaonkar and Meera Deshmukh are a combination for her.” So it is easy for people to connect us in any form, be it ‘Bholaa’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘De De Ajay’. We have also selected films that fit our current state and has the ability to cater to different genres and fit into any film.”

Auron Mein Kya Dum Tha starred the film Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar as young Ajay and Tabu. The film also features Jimmy Shergill in an extended cameo. While it didn’t make much of a splash at the box office, it could get a big response on OTT. I’ll have to wait to find out!
