Carlos Alcaraz defeated Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands 6-1, 6-2 at the China Open to claim his 200th career tour win.

The 21-year-old Alcaraz joined 2000s-born players Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime to achieve this feat. The Spaniard won 100 percent of the points with his first serve points (23 out of 23) and needed just 57 minutes to defeat Griekspoor, who had 24 unforced errors and was two wins ahead.

In the quarterfinals, second seed Alcaraz will face Russia’s Karen Khachanov, who was ousted by Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo 7-6 (4), 7-6 (9). Seventh-seeded Khachanov took the win despite making 22 unforced errors against 17 winners.

Chinese wildcard player Bu Yunchaokete defeated number six seed Italian Lorenzo Musetti 6-2, 6-4.

Top seed Italian Sinner and third seed Daniil Medvedev of Russia will also be in action in the quarterfinals in Beijing on Monday.

Rune survived a match point in the two-hour, 16-minute match against Nishikori, a two-time Tokyo champion. Rune also converted four of nine break chances but had 46 unforced errors.

The Czech Tomas Machac and the French Arthur Fils and Ugo Humbert also made it to the semi-finals.
