The 2024 Paris Olympics will feature more than 40 gold medal events on Saturday, including the USA’s basketball gold medal match against France, the women’s soccer gold medal match between the USA and Brazil, the men’s beach volleyball gold medal match between Sweden and Germany, and the men’s breakdancing gold medal matches.

The Olympic track and field schedule is packed with eight medal events today, including the men’s and women’s 4×400-meter relays and the women’s 100-meter hurdles. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is expected to run for Team USA in the 4×400-meter relay.

There will be 22 sports in total, and USA TODAY Sports will bring you live scores, medal counts, highlights and more throughout the day. Stay tuned.

VAIRES-SUR-MARNE, France – Nevin Harrison was just one hundredth of a second away from her second gold medal.

Harrison won the silver medal in the women’s 200-meter canoe sprint on Saturday, losing in a photo finish to Canada’s Katie Vincent.

Vincent finished the course with a world record of 44.12 seconds, just ahead of Harrison (44.13). Cuban Yarisleidis Cirilo Duboys (44.36) took bronze.

Harrison set an Olympic record as an 18-year-old on her way to winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, finishing second in the semifinals, 29/100 of a second behind Vincent.

LE BOURGET, France — American sport climber Brooke Raboutou earned her first Olympic medal Saturday when she won silver in the women’s combined bouldering and lead finals, finishing behind Slovenian favorite and gold medalist Janja Garnbret. Garnbret led with 168.5 total points, followed by Raboutou with 156.0 and Austria’s Jessica Pilz with 147.4 for bronze. Raboutou — a 23-year-old two-time Olympian — built on her strong performance in the bouldering finals, finishing that portion with 84 points, just 0.4 points behind Garnbret’s 25th. Raboutou and Garnbret were the only climbers to complete three of the four boulder problems, finishing the round in second and first, respectively. In lead, Raboutou turned in another stellar performance, collecting 72 points, moving to the top of the leaderboard and securing a medal. Garnbret previously won Olympic gold in the women’s combined at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics – a different format from the Paris Olympics, when the combined discipline included bouldering, lead and speed. The Serbian men’s 5×5 basketball team claimed the bronze medal with a 93-83 victory over Germany on Saturday. Serbia recovered from a heartbreaking 95-91 loss to the United States in the semifinals to prevent Germany from winning its first Olympic medal in men’s 5×5 basketball.

Serbia’s three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic had 19 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists, and teammate Vasilije Micic scored 19 points. Bogdan Bogdanovic added 16 points for Serbia, which won silver medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2023 FIBA ​​World Cup.

It was a disappointing end for Germany, the 2023 world champions, who won 3-0 in the group stage but lost to France in the semi-finals and Serbia in the third-place match.
