Actors Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married in a civil ceremony at their home earlier this year. The couple now recalled the most “magical” part of their wedding when the priest recited the holy mantras and thezaan ran in the background.

In an interview with Galatta PlusSonakshi and Zaheer revealed that the Kanyadan The ceremony was delayed by a few minutes, but when it began, they were sure it was divine intervention. Zaheer said: “I think this is the most beautiful moment of my life, and it was so beautiful. The Kanyadan was 15 minutes late and when we finally sat down, I held her hand and we prayed.”

The actor added that Sonakshi was the first to azaan and then both of them smiled at what they considered a blessing from the gods. Zaheer said, “Suddenly Sona said, ‘Can you hear that?’ I asked, ‘What?’ She replied, ‘That azaan is on’ and it was such a beautiful moment. The Pandit (priest) prayed, recited the mantras and the azaan was playing in the background when we got married. It felt like divine intervention.”

The ceremony, which took place on June 23, was attended by family members, including Sonakshi’s parents Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha and their close friends. The actress paid tribute to her family’s legacy by Subscribe Sari to be worn during the ceremony. Sonakshi and Zaheer later hosted a grand wedding reception which was attended by the celebrities of the film industry including Salman Khan, Rekha, Raveena Tandon, Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Kajol, Tabu and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
